Project Description

The Einsiedler Brauhaus was founded on 29 August 1885 by the machine manufacturer Emil Schwalbe as a private brewery in Chemnitz-Einsiedel. In 1903 the brewery was converted into a public limited company. In 1920, the company was taken over by Deutsche Brau- & Aktiengesellschaft Berlin and renamed Einsiedler Brauhaus AG. From 1925, the brewery was a branch of the Radeberger Exportbierbrauerei. In 1937 the brewery was reprivatized by the Winterling family.
